Register New Members

The chapter’s membership manager will:

  • Logout by clicking the link in the upper right corner
  • Open the password-protected page: https://qgotv.org/staging/register
  • Bookmark the page for easy access next time
  • Enter the password to that page: qgotvchapterenroll
  • Now would be a recommended time to ask the member to go into their own device and add QGOTV with qgotvweb@gmail.com to their contacts. This may help any email coming from the server to avoid going into the Spam or Junk folder. (note added 12/20/2019)

The membership manager will:

  • Enter the Username (Usernames must be first name and last name, all lowercase, no spaces, and must start with a letter not a number.)  This is the only field that cannot be updated.
  • Enter the Guild member since field 
  • Enter the Chapter ID  see the Chapter List if you do not know your chapter’s id
  •  Have the new member complete the rest of the registration form or you can fill in the fields for the new member, if preferred.
  • Proofread all the inputted fields for proper formatting:
    1. capitals where they belong
    2. no punctuation in streets 
    3. abbreviated states in caps
    4. phone numbers should have only a ‘-‘ between area code and prefix and then another ‘-‘ between the prefix and the line number. Ex. 555-123-4567
    5. birth month entered as number – for example, 1=January, 2=February and so on – do not enter day or year of birth
    6. second phone number is for a second local or mobile number such as a landline or spouse’s mobile
    7. primary address must be listed as The Villages address – used to validate if someone is allowed to be a member
    8. secondary address fields are for a second residence, if one exists, where the member lives for part of the year – this is intended so the chapter could, if needed, mail something to a member in the off season
    9. all fields with an asterisk (*) are required – note: emergency contact and phone number are required fields
  • Lastly, click the Register button.
  • Edits can be made after the initial registration. Simply make the change and click Update Profile

Have the new member:

  • Check for an email after a minute or two to retrieve the username and password
  • Open the website, click Sign In and enter the login info from the email
  • Change the password to something of their choosing by going to their Hello (name) greeting at the top of the page and then click Change Password
  • Enter a strong password with upper and lowercase letters and numbers – something you will remember
  • Click the Memberships menu item
  • Select a Buy Memberships Here 
  • You can see a training video of the process here
  • Answer the next 3 questions
  • Follow directions on the page
  • Go to the Checkout to complete the transaction including the ‘Optional’ First Name and Last Name. It’s important that these are filled in – treat them as required
  • Members can pay by cash, check, or by credit card. Our preference is credit card.

After the member purchases the two memberships, you must complete the order by going to the Dashboard.
